The latest leaks around iOS 16 point towards major changes for iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and all other supported devices for this update. iOS 16 rumors have been making the rounds for a while now, with most predicting that it will be one of the main focus areas of the Apple WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) event scheduled for June 2022. While it is not expected that the iOS itself will be available before September when Apple might launch the iPhone 14 series. But even as we do not know much about the upcoming Apple OS from official sources, the iOS 16 leaks have told us quite a lot. Also read: Waking up to a raucous iPhone 13 alarm? This latest round of leaks comes from Bloomberg’s Apple expert Mark Gurman. Answering his premium Q&A section in his Power On newsletter, Gurman claimed that iOS 16 will be a highlight of the WWDC 2022. Elaborating further, he revealed that “there should be major changes across the system” and interestingly, “new ways of interacting”. Gurman, however, chose to remain cryptic and did not explain what these major changes were or what new ways of interacting we should foresee.
The biggest reveal to come from Gurman’s Q&A section was a brief mention of “fresh Apple apps”. If the information is to be believed, Apple might be bringing some new applications to refresh its app lineup for iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and other supported apps. “On the iOS side, I'm looking for some fairly significant enhancements across the board, including an update to notifications and new health-tracking features," he added. One of these apps is likely to be the Apple Classical Music app which is rumored to be an orchestral-inclined sister app of Apple Music. It was reportedly seen within the iOS 15.5 beta version. While not much is known about the other possible apps, it can be anything from a subscription management app to a video editing app. We will have to wait for more leaks or official information for this.
Some other big claims have also been made around the next generation of Apple OS. One such iOS 16 leak has said that a new “big widget” design can come with the update, which will contain multiple widgets in a single container. Another leak claims a crash detection system that will automatically inform the emergency services if the device detects a vehicular collision.
Do note, that none of this information comes from the official sources at Apple, and they may or may not come true. As with all leaks, do take it with a pinch of salt.
