Oppo seems to be really pushing the boundaries of the existing technology right now and planning to bring some futuristic smartphones. Just recently it showcased the X 2021 rollable phone and now it has shown a new sliding phone that can unfold into three different screen sizes.
For this a new sliding phone, Oppo has partnered with Japanese design studio Nendo. It says that the trend of making larger-screen smartphones is a concern as they become inconvenient to hold for longer durations. So instead, this sliding smartphone can come as a solution for those who want a compact phone as well as a phone with a long screen.

This new concept phone unfolds vertically, similar to what we have seen in new Moto Razr versions and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. However, the design here is segmented, so it opens up in three different modes.
When you open the first segment, it allows you to see the clock and the notifications. On opening the second segment, you can enable the selfie mode. And unfolding the third segment, which also means unfolding the device completely, will show you a wide display, which can be used for gaming, watching movies or doing any other kind of multitasking.
There are side buttons as well, which change functions depending on which mode you are in.
What's interesting is that the design also has a space to feature an inbuilt stylus.
But no matter how interesting this sliding phone looks like, unfortunately this is still a concept device. So, this is unlikely to go on sale anytime soon. Oppo has also not cleared when it will be making this smartphone for the masses.
