Xiaomi launched a new budget smartphone in India earlier this week. Redmi Note 9 is the last phone to join the Note 9 trio which already includes the Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max.
Redmi Note 9 is the newest entry in the budget segment, and it offers a punch-hole camera, four rear cameras, and a massive battery. Redmi Note 9 somehow competes with its older sibling, Redmi Note 9 Pro since there isn’t much difference between the two. It also competes with the Realme Narzo 10. We take a look at what each phone has to offer.
Design, display
Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro both have a punch-hole camera on its display. The rear camera module is also the same but with slightly smaller sensors on the Redmi Note 9. Realme Narzo 10 has a notched display with its rear cameras stacked vertically.
Redmi Note 9 has a 6.53-inch FHD+ display, while the Note 9 Pro features a slightly bigger 6.67-inch FHD+ display. Narzo 10 also has a 6.5-inch FHD+ display.
Performance
Powering the Redmi Note 9 is MediaTek’s Helio G85 processor with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. Redmi Note 9 Pro runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset. On the Narzo 10, you get MediaTek’s Helio G80 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro both have the same 5,020mAh battery but with 22.5W and 18W fast charging speeds respectively. Narzo 10 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging speed.
Camera
The quad-camera setup on the Redmi Note 9 Pro includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, 2-megapixel macro lens and 2-megapixel depth sensor. It has a 13-megapixel camera for selfies.
On the Note 9 Pro, you get a 5-megapixel macro sensor, and a better 16-megapixel selfie camera.
Realme Narzo 10 also has four rear cameras. The setup features a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens, 2-megapixel macro lens and a B&W portrait lens. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel camera on the Narzo 10.
Price
Redmi Note 9 and Narzo 10 have the same price of ₹11,999. Narzo 10 offers a bigger storage of 128GB than the Redmi Note 9’s 64GB. Redmi Note 9 Pro starts at ₹13,999 and this variant comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Summing up
All three phones offer almost the same specs and features, especially the Redmi Note 9 and Narzo 10. Based on the comparison, Narzo 10 offers a better chipset and more storage as well.
