We’ve reported extensively on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A52 smartphone, from the leaks about the device’s display, to the colours and the chipsets on both the 4G and 5G variants. A new report now suggests that the South Korean tech giant may also be bringing a flagship feature to the Galaxy A52 - optical image stabilisation, or OIS.

The configuration of the upcoming device’s camera has previously been reported on including that it could sport a quad cam setup, but a recent tweet by Roland Quandt now gives us a fair idea of the camera specs on the Galaxy A52. The device will likely have a 64-megapixel camera, plus a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and two 5 megapixel sensors for macro and depth respectively.

But according to Quandt, the most interesting feature on the Galaxy A52 will be the inclusion of OIS on the main camera. This is a feature that is usually found on all higher-end devices, so it is great that the company is bringing it to the more affordable Galaxy A series as well. For those who are unaware, OIS helps in ensuring a sharper image when you click photos while you’re on the move, while videos also turn out much better.

Samsung has already included a Super Steady mode, which uses VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization) technology, according to the company. It predicts user movements before filming starts, and once the camera is running, it calculates the adjustment range to minimize shakiness in videos, the company has previously explained.

Other leaks of the device have suggested that the device will sport a Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and launch in two RAM and storage variants of 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The device is also rumoured to feature a 32-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter and run Android 11 and One UI 3.0 out of the box. Meanwhile, the 4G variant of the phone could come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor and sport the same camera configuration as the 5G variant of the device, according to reports.
