Samsung Galaxy F22 India launch date revealed, to feature 90Hz display, 6000mAh battery; to be available on Flipkart

Samsung has announced the launch date of a new smartphone in India. The rumoured Galaxy F22 will finally become official on July 6. Samsung has also confirmed the smartphone will be available on Flipkart, Samsung’s online store and select retail stores when it launches in India. A teaser site for the Galaxy F22 has gone live on Flipkart and Samsung India’s website.

Samsung Galaxy F22 features

The teaser site for the Galaxy F22 confirms some features of the smartphone. The Galaxy F22 will feature a 6.4-inch HD+ sAMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will also feature an Infinity-U cutout notch. The Galaxy F22 is also confirmed to pack a 6,000mAh battery. It will feature a quad-camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor. The smartphone is also seen in black colour but there could be more colour options at launch. It also has a side fingerprint sensor.

According to this listing, the Galaxy F22 will pack 4GB of RAM, and it will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G80 processor. On the software front, it will run Android 11 out-of-the-box.

As for the rest of the specifications, the Galaxy F22 is expected to feature an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It could also house a 13-megapixel selfie camera. The Galaxy F22 is also expected to house a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Is it a rebranded Galaxy A22?

The Galaxy F22 has been rumoured to launch in India for quite some time. Some reports also suggest that it will be a rebranded Galaxy A22. The smartphone was spotted on the Google Play Console listing as well.

Recent launches by Samsung

Galaxy F22 will be the fourth smartphone in the Galaxy F series in 2021. Samsung has so far launched Galaxy F62, Galaxy F12 and Galaxy F02s. Samsung is rumoured to launch the Galaxy A22 in India as well. Considering the Galaxy F22 will be identical to the Galaxy A22 4G, Samsung could bring only the 5G model to India. Or it may just launch both the phones since Samsung is known to do so.
