The Samsung Galaxy M42 was spotted on several listings back in November last year. Those listings had revealed some of the specs on the upcoming M series smartphone, including the fact that it was going to come with a 6,000mAh battery.
Now, the same smartphone, with the model number SM-M426B/DS has been spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance website, according to GSMArena reports.
The model number that’s been spotted is particularly important. All past international versions of 5G Samsung devices have all come with the B/DS marking. So, this indicates that the Galaxy M42 is also going to be a 5G device. This makes the Galaxy M42 the first 5G device in the Galaxy M series.

The listing on Wi-Fi alliance does not reveal any other specification for the Galaxy M42 except that it comes with dual-mode Wi-Fi connectivity. There is also confirmation that the smartphone is going to run Android 11 out-of-the-box.
Older listings have revealed that the Galaxy M42 is going to come with a 64-megapixel primary sensor on the back, and a 128GB built-in storage. According to reports, Samsung Galaxy M42 is going to be a stripped-down version of the Galaxy A42 5G.
There is no information about when the smartphone is expected to launch though.
