Samsung Galaxy Note 20 smartphones get software update even before they go on sale

Samsung has just launched its Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra smartphones but before the series went on sale, they already have received their first software update. Weighing 500MB, the update doesn’t mention what firmware it brings however, it does reveal the Android security patch version as August 1, 2020. 

The screenshot shared by Sammobile also states that the update may include device stability improvements, bug fixes, new or enhanced features along with further improvements to performance. The details, however, were missing. It is said that some early buyers may get this feature as soon as they take it out of the box and boot the smartphone.

The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra run Android-based One UI out of the box and in all likeliness will get Android 11 as well.

The Galaxy Note20 is priced at Rs 77,999, while the Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G will be available for Rs 1,04,999 in India.

Consumers can pre-book their Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra starting today on Samsung.com and across leading retail stores. Customers pre-booking Galaxy Note20 will be eligible for benefits worth Rs 7000, while those pre-booking Galaxy Note20 Ultra will get benefits worth Rs 10,000. These benefits can be redeemed on Samsung Shop app on a set of products, including Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Watches, Galaxy Tabs, among others.

Additionally, when paying with HDFC Bank Credit and Debit Cards, consumers will be eligible for cashback up to ₹6,000 on purchase of Galaxy Note20 and up to Rs 9,000 on purchase of Galaxy Note20 Ultra.

Some key specs of the handset include 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED Quad HD+ screen, 12GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB and 512GB options, 108MP primary sensor and 50x Space Zoom, Exynos 990 processor and 4,500mAh battery.
