Samsung Galaxy Note 20 to launch in an online event in August

The Covid-19 pandemic has derailed all major tech conferences and launch events this year. And now, word is that the pandemic may lead to change in plans for another major tech event: the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20.

Samsung during its quarterly earnings call last month said that it would be launching the Galaxy Note 20 along with the Galaxy Fold 2 in the second quarter of 2020. Now a new report by The Korean Herald (via 9To5 Google) says that while the company is going for an August launch, it is not planning to host a physical event for the launch of its next generation flagship smartphones amid the Covid-19 feature. Simply said, Samsung is planning to host an online event for the launch of its Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones.

Last year, the company had hosted the Galaxy Note 10 event in August in New York which had attendees from all over the world in attendance.

Now, the report says that since there is no physical space needed for the launch of its Galaxy Note 20 series, and of course the Galaxy Fold 2, the company hasn’t zeroed down on a launch date yet. The event, however, will take place some time in August.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor that is coupled with up to 16GB of RAM. It is likely to get a 120Hz display with a 4,500mAh battery. Furthermore, the upcoming flagship series is likely to get a punch hole display in the front and a 108-megapixel camera at the back.
