Samsung Galaxy S21 may skip Exynos 1000 chip, latest leak reveals

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21 early next year. The new flagship series is expected to come with a bunch of upgrades, at least in the specifications department. According to a new Geekbench listing, Samsung may use a new chip on the S21 phones. 

While older rumours had hinted at a powerful ‘Exynos 1000’ chip, the listing reveals the Galaxy S21 will run on an Exynos 2100. Compared to the unconfirmed Exynos 1000 and Snapdragon 875, Exynos 2100 does not outperform them. Interestingly, the Exynos 1000 chip has the highest score on the Geekbench listing. 

According to GSMArena, Samsung Galaxy S21 will come with 8GB of RAM, same as the S20+ with 4G support. The company offers 12GB of RAM on the 5G model.

Samsung Galaxy S21 will also come with slightly better battery capacity than the predecessor. According to a separate report, Samsung will have a 4,800mAh battery on the new flagships. It will be about 300mAh bump over the current S20+ model.

Samsung introduces its S-series flagships in February each year. The company is likely to follow the same product launch cycle next year. 

As said earlier, Samsung Galaxy S21 will come with upgraded features and specifications. The camera is also likely to get better on the new flagship. Already, Samsung has begun working on an ISOCELL Vizion camera which will be a 3D ToF camera. There are also rumours of OIS coming to the front-facing camera. You can also expect the latest software on the new flagships.
