Samsung Galaxy S21 series gets One UI 3.1.1 update with bedtime mode, new weather app and more

When Samsung launched its next-generation of foldable display smartphones, that is, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, earlier this month, they were launched with a special version of the company’s Android 11-based One UI mobile operating system called One UI 3.1.1. Now, nearly a month later, this special version has arrived on Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones that were launched earlier this year at the company’s first Galaxy Unpacked event for the year.

Samsung’s One UI 3.1.1 update brings bug fixes and security updates to the Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones. In addition to that, the update brings an improved user interface, a new bedtime mode, a new accidental touch protection feature, and a new weather app. As per a report by a blog site called Tizen Help, the One UI 3.1.1 also brings animations and pop-up menus load faster. It also brings an enhanced camera app to the Galaxy S21 series smartphones.

The list of Samsung phones getting the One UI 3.1.1 update:

1. Samsung Galaxy S21,

2. Samsung Galaxy S21+

3. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

The report also says that T-Mobile users in the US and Canada are getting One UI 3.1.1 update in the form of the firmware update G99*WVLU4AUGQ. This is expected to be available in other regions soon. The firmware update G99*WVLU4AUGQ is 1082MB in size and it is being rolled out as a part of Android’s August security patch on the Galaxy S21 series smartphones.

After the Galaxy S21 series smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphones, which consists of the Samsung Galaxy S20, the Samsung Galaxy S20+ and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones, and Galaxy Note 20 series, which consists of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G smartphones, will get the One UI 3.1.1 update in the coming days.

Separately, Samsung is also gearing to roll out One UI 4.0 beta update to the Samsung Galaxy S21 users. The update is expected to be rolled out in mid-September.
