Samsung gives 8GB RAM to Galaxy A32, here's what it costs

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the unique-looking Galaxy A32 in India with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage as standard. A couple of months later, Samsung has added another variant to the Galaxy A32, wherein the only difference is the presence of 8GB RAM and a higher price tag. This new variant costs ₹23,499 and sits above the 6GB RAM variant of the device.

Rest of the features and specs remain unchanged. Hence, you continue to get the Galaxy A32 in the same three glossy colours, i.e., Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, and Awesome Violet. And before you ponder, there's no 5G upgrade despite the price hike.

Moreover, if that 8GB RAM does not suffice for you, Samsung has added its RAM Plus feature on this variant. Hence, you have the usual 8GB RAM at your disposal and when required, you can have an extra 4GB RAM at hand.

This virtual RAM feature has been previously seen on many Android smartphones, starting with the Vivo X60 series launched earlier this year. Samsung now follows all the other brands in adding this RAM expansion feature. The idea is to borrow some memory capacity from the onboard storage for improved multitasking experience.

Sadly, Samsung is still sticking to the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset with this phone. You do get the 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and up to 800 nits of peak brightness. The phone relies on a 5000mAh battery and there's support for 15W fast charging onboard.

In other Samsung news, the Android 12 update has started to come out for some Galaxy devices. The first batch of devices to get the One UI 4 update based on Android 12 is the Galaxy S21 series. This will be followed by the older and eligible Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note series, and Galaxy A series devices. The Galaxy Z fold devices are expected to get the updates in the next few months.
