Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 13 series in the fall this year. Ahead of the official launch, reports have detailed the features that we are expected to see in the iPhone 12 successors. Now, a new report talks about the displays that will be used in upcoming iPhone models.

GizChina reports that both Samsung and LG have started the process of making displays for the upcoming iPhone 13 series smartphones. Samsung reportedly began its production process in mid-May. LG began the process shortly after. The report also says that Samsung’s first batch of iPhone 13 displays was around 10-days ahead of LG’s. All of this indicates that the production process is going on time this year and that the next-generation iPhone models are expected to arrive on schedule. This means that the iPhone 13 series smartphones are likely to be launched in September this year.

Separately, older reports suggest that Samsung’s display-making subsidiary, Samsung Display is expected to provide 80 million OLED displays for the upcoming iPhone 13 models, which will be used in iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. These panels use LTPO panels that support a 120Hz refresh rate.

LG Display, on the other hand, is expected to provide 30 million displays that are expected to be used in iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini models. iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 orders combined, Samsung is expected to provide 120 million OLED panels for Apple iPhones in 2021, while LG is expected to supply roughly 50 million panels.

BOE failed to enter Apple’s supply chain this year. But it is still expected to provide displays for iPhone 13 that will be used for replacement purposes.
