Every powered smartphone these days churns out a lot of power when we throw some heavy tasks at it. And during the process, it naturally generates a lot of heat, one of the main reasons why you feel your handset getting warm. And to control the heat, OEMs come up with innovative and effective solutions. For instance, we can see how Asus ROG Phone 5 has changed its PCB placement to feel less heat and has used a vapor chamber as well to keep it under control. Now one would naturally think that this might be having the largest vapor chamber right now since it is the flagship gaming phone that is meant to push a lot of power on a regular basis. However, that’s not the case as there’s apparently another device that has the largest vapor cooling chamber right now - Sony Xperia Pro.

This was revealed in YouTuber, Jerry Rig Everything’s latest video where he performed a handset teardown. The YouTuber, who in the past has done a teardown of ASUS ROG Phones, Black Shark, Red Magic and other handsets made for heavy work, says that there’s a metal plate that serves as an interface with various graphite sheets that transfer the heat to a large vapor chamber that is almost as tall and wide as the phone. The chamber dumps all the heat through the screen.

However, that may not be the sole reason why you would spend $2,500 on Xperia Pro. The device also has last year’s Snapdragon 865 processor. However, gaming phone makers might be able to pick up some design ideas from Sony when it comes to heating.

Sony Xperia Pro launched last month itself alongside the Xperia 1 Mark II and Xperia 10 Mark II. The two handsets are made with videographers in mind and have some camera features coming from the company’s Alpha camera series.
