Vivo Y53s 5G with 90Hz display, 5000mAh battery launched: Check price, specifications, and more

Vivo has launched a new version of its four-year-old Y53 handset. Called Y53s, the handset is currently available in China for a starting price of CNY 1,799 ( ₹20,000 approximately). The smartphone is said to be a successor to the Y52s, which had launched last year.

One of the highlights of the Y53s is that it is 5G compatible. In terms of specifications, it comes with a 6.58-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and full HD+ IPS LCD. For performance, it relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon entry-level 5G chip, Snapdragon 480. It is coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of built-in storage. The handset packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. On the software front, it runs on Android 11-based Origin OS 1.0.

In the camera department, you get an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. On the back, it has a dual-camera setup, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a macro sensor.

While the base model (8+128) is priced at ₹20,000 approximately, there’s also another 256GB model that costs CNY 1,999 ( ₹22,800 approximately). There is no word on when the phone will be available in markets outside China.

That said, Vivo is gearing up for another Y-series launch in the Indian market. The company has already begun dropping teasers for the upcoming Y73. The handset will launch on June 10. Vivo promises the phone will offer a slim and stylish design with a gradient textured back panel.

As far specs go, leaks reveal the phone will come with a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with HRD10 support. A MediaTek Helio G95 processor will power the phone. The phone will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There will also be 3GB of extended RAM. The triple camera setup on the back will consist of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel bokeh sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Vivo Y73 will pack a 4,000mAh battery with a 33W flash charge.
