Vivo Y72 5G goes official (Vivo Thailand)

Vivo has quietly launched a new 5G smartphone. Called Y72 5G, the handset is available in Thailand. It is also the first time Vivo has rolled out a 5G-enabled Y-series phone outside China, reports Gizmochina. There is no word on when the phone will launch in India.

The phone comes in only one variant and is priced at $323 approximately ( 23,400 approx.). The handset is available in Graphite Black and Dream Glow colours. The phone will go on sale on March 31. The pre-orders will open on March 25.

Vivo Y72 5G looks identical to some of the recently launched Vivo phones. It has a vertically aligned camera panel on the back. The front houses a dewdrop-like notch.

The handset houses a 6.58-inch display with an IPS LCD panel and full HD+ resolution. The screen offers a 20:9 aspect ratio and 90.6% screen-to-body ratio. The notch houses a 16-megapixel camera sensor for selfies.

For performance, Vivo Y72 5G relies on MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 processor. The chipset powers smartphones such as Realme V11 5G and Redmi Note 10 5G. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM (LPDDR4x) and 128GB of built-in storage. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support. On the software front, it runs on Android 11-based FunTouch OS 11.1.

The vertical camera panel houses a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with a 120-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The camera also supports features such as super night mode, eye autofocus, and EIS.

Other important features of the phone are dual-SIM, 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C, and microSD card slot. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
