iPhone users around the world have been facing a hard time accessing their WhatsApp. The users have reported that the app crashes as soon as they open it up on their iPhone. The users are not able to access WhatsApp send or reply messages. The problem has been reported on WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, as well as the WhatsApp beta available through TestFlight. Users have taken to Twitter to report their issue.
“WhatsApp is just crashing on my phone. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?” shared a user on Twitter. He even posted a video of the app crashing upon selection. “My whatsapp crashing too. How to solve this issue?” tweeted another user in response.
Initially, it was being suspected that the problem was caused due to Apple’s Tuesday's iOS 15.2 update. However, many users have reported that the older versions of the operating system are also facing the same issue. Hence, it is being reported that the bug may be caused by a problem with Facebook’s servers rather than some malfunction in the iOS app. According to Downdetector, there have been more than 50 self-reports of the app crashing.

Though WhatsApp has not acknowledged the outages at this time, some of the users have shared that the app is working fine after getting reinstalled. “I reinstalled and its working fine, so far,” said a user. Another user wrote, “Updated FB Messenger app and now WhatsApp works. Go figure.”
