Virtually on a daily basis new Windows 11 features are being revealed ever since the OS was first launched by its CEO Satya Nadella. The latest to catch the spotlight is a new dialer. Microsoft had recently released an update to the Windows 11 Insider Preview program that brought a host of bug fixes to the upcoming desktop-based operating system. It also brought a new Family Widget feature to Windows 11 in all languages and regions that will allow users to see recent activity, including their last location and the total screen time of family members in their Microsoft family group. Now, word is that the company has released another feature to the beta version of the app, but it is exclusive to its own Microsoft Lumia smartphone.

GizmoChina reports that Microsoft is releasing an updated version of its dialer app to its Lumia 950 XL smartphone. This new dialer has been designed by Computer Engineering student Simone Franco, and it runs on Windows instead of Windows Mobile. The update that has been verified on GitHub enables users to find all of their Windows contacts and call them with ease. It also enables users to Quickly jump to relevant contacts owing to the alphanumeric right bar next to the scrollbar.

In addition to a new dialer, Microsoft has also added a new contact page with an alphanumeric bar right next to the scroll that enables users to quickly find contacts.

It is worth noting that this update comes shortly after the company announced that it is bringing Spotify integration directly into Windows 11. The news was announced by Microsoft’s head of Windows and devices Panos Panay. “Another first look from the team...#FocusSessions on #Windows11 coming soon. This has been a game-changer for me, especially with @Spotify integration,” the Microsoft executive had said at the time. How this integration will take place is quite simple. When users set a timer to activate Focus Sessions, they will be able to play songs from a playlist on Spotify. Microsoft hasn’t started testing this feature yet in the public builds of Windows 11. However, it is possible that it arrives in a beta build of the OS soon.
