Aadhaar card is vital for almost every person in the country in order to avail almost any service at all, be it public or private. It is also the single point of entry for those who want to avail a number of government services. So, there was good news for all concerned when the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) took to Twitter and revealed that it has updated the mAadhaar app which provides people with mobile phones as many as 35 services that are available round the clock including Aadhaar card download, Aadhaar card status check, Aadhaar card reprint and more.
This update applies to both Android smartphone owners as well as those having iOS handsets. However, to allow the mAadhaar update to take effect, users will have to go through the process of uninstalling the app from their smartphones and installing the new version again.
Among the new features available on mAadhaar are:
Multilingual: 13 Indian languages are supported, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
mAadhaar services: The upgraded app provides three categories of services: a) The main service dashboard, b) request status services, and c) my Aadhaar.
Main service dashboard: It lets users update addresses, revise mobile numbers, download offline e-KYC, order a reprint, retrieve UID and EID etc.
The Enrolment centre section points users to the nearest enrolment centre
Virtual ID services: Allows further generation of a virtual ID and create up to 3 profiles and manage them
Paperless e-Verification: Allows users to share their QR code and password-protected e-KYC for paperless verification.
Strengthened security measures: Enabled One Time Password verification system.
With new benefits on offer, there is no better option than to download mAadhaar again on your smartphone.
