Tata Sky Broadband will only be available in 18 cities now, is your city on the list?

Tata Sky Broadband has decided to withdraw services from three major cities in the country. When the company started off, they were available in 21 cities. India’s first “truly Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband infrastructure” offers four unlimited plans and four fixed GB plans and had revamped these plans in May to include a new 300 Mpbs unlimited plan for select areas.

Now on, Tata Sky Broadband will not be available in Ahmedabad, Surat and Jodhpur. The company no longer highlights these cities on the site nor on the new connection page or the plans selection page.

The 18 cities to still get service include Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Kalyan-Dombivli, Mira Bhayandar, Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune and Thane. Importantly, even in these cities, the service is available in limited areas.

Tata Sky offers four major broadband plans that are applicable pan India. These range between ₹950 to ₹1,900 per month. The basic ₹950 plan comes with 25 Mbps speed, the ₹1,050 plan comes with 50 Mbps, ₹1,150 with 100 Mbps and ₹1,900 with 300 Mbps speed.

There are also four fixed plans ranging from ₹790 to ₹1,050. The base ₹790 plan lets users browser till 150GB at 50 Mbps, the ₹950 plan offers users 100 Mbps speeds till 250GB. The ₹1,000 plan enables users to browse at 50 Mbps speed till 500GB and the ₹1,050 plan enables users to browse up to 100 Mbps speed till 500GB.

Tata Sky Broadband offers a free router to all users and data rollover is offered to users on the fixed plans. There is also free installation for all users subscribing to the three-month plans.
