Go back to Hogwarts with the new Harry Potter PS5 game
Hogwarts Legacy is coming to PlayStation 5 and it’s the perfect thing for the fans.
Sony showcased the Hogwarts Legacy game at the PlayStation 5 event last night and it looks like the perfect new adventure title for the fans and gamers. Developed by Avalanche Software and in the works for a while, Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1,800s and takes you into the world of witchcraft and wizardry at Hogwarts before Harry, Ron and Hermione arrived.
The trailer, which has an amazing background score, gives you a peek at what you are going to be taking on - from trolls to dragons, a lot of wand-swishing, broom riding adventures, the enchanted forest, the great hall and even the greenhouse. The game includes all the significant things we have seen in the Harry Potter franchise over the books and the movies.
The game is set in the past and this gives the developers a chance to exist without clashing with the already-established Harry Potter storyline and giving you a chance to play out your own adventures.
However, that also means that you will not get the characters like Hargrid or McGonagall and definitely no Neville or Luna.
The gameplay looks to be based on RPG and action-adventure as you navigate through the corridors of Hogwarts and also the world beyond the walls. The game makes it clear that the play is not limited to the school grounds.
Hogwarts Legacy allows you to create your own wizarding avatar so as you can fulfill your long-awaited fantasy of attending magic school - at least virtually.
Sony just gave us a look at the trailer at the event and no launch date has been announced yet. We also do not know if this game is a PS5 exclusive or if it will come to other platforms as well. If a mass franchise like this does not come to Xbox, that will be surprising, to be honest.
Bloomberg had reported earlier in June this year that a Harry Potter game for both PlayStation and the Xbox series was in the works and this is possibly it. We'll just have to wait to find out the launch dates.
