5 exciting iPhone 13 leaks making us look forward to the launch
- The iPhone 13 launch is just around the corner, and leaks are coming from every corner.
- Here are five iPhone 13 upgrades that we are looking forward to.
The most anticipated launch of 2021 in the smartphone industry is around the corner. Apple could launch its iPhone 13 lineup as soon as next month. While the iPhone 13 series is tipped to come in the same four variants as iPhone 12, Apple is expected to introduce several new features to the lineup. From a higher refresh rate to better cameras, here's what's getting us excited for the iPhone 13 launch.
1. 120Hz ProMotion display
The 120Hz refresh rate is now a common feature in the Android land. Not only flagships but mid-range devices also sport a high refresh rate these days. However, the current Apple offerings are stuck in the past as they come with a 60Hz refresh rate - even on the ₹1.5 L iPhone 12 Pro Max. If the rumours are to be believed, Apple is adopting an LTPO display to offer a 120Hz high refresh rate on the iPhone 13 Pro series. Unfortunately, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini are said to make do with the 60Hz refresh rate.
2. Video Portrait mode and ProRes
As per a report, the iPhone 13 lineup will have a video portrait mode that will allow users to blur the background of the footage. For reference, portrait mode allows you to put a person in sharp focus while blurring the background. Apple could also introduce the ability to record video in a higher-quality format called ProRes. It will allow users to capture clips in a higher-quality format. Hence, giving editors more control during post-production.
3. Smaller notch
While Android flagships are trying to get rid of the punch-hole cutout, iPhones are still stuck with big, ugly notches - for FaceID purposes. However, Apple is rumoured to shrink the notch size on the iPhone 13 lineup. It is said that the TrueDepth camera will be shallower. It is because the receiver at the top of the display is tipped to be relocated to the edge of the case.
4. Same price!
The iPhone 13 series is said to cost the same as its predecessor. This means that the baseline iPhone 13 could cost $799, which was an increase of $100 from the iPhone 11 model. It is likely because the iPhone 13 will not have major technical upgrades. The iPhone 12 mini could start at $699, while the iPhone 13 Pro might cost $999.
5. Faster charging?
While the Android competitors are contemplating moving above 65W in terms of charging speed, the iPhone 12 offers support for just 20W charging. It is rumoured that Apple will push that number to 25W with the upcoming iPhone. However, the power adapter is likely to not be a part of the package.
