Xiaomi started rolling out the Android 11 update for Mi A3 earlier this week. Shortly after, users started complaining of their phones bricking upon installing the new software update. Xiaomi has acknowledged the problem and halted the update rollout following these complaints by users.

Mi A3 users have been complaining on Twitter about their phones not turning on after installing the Android 11 update. Mi A3 users have been unable to restart their phones due to the buggy software update. There's a ton of complaints on Twitter mentioning the same bricking issue caused by the Android 11 update. Xiaomi has halted the update rollout for now but it's yet to issue a fix for the affected units.

Mi A3 users who may have downloaded the Android 11 update are advised to not install it on their phones as the issue seems to be widespread and not limited to select units. The Android 11 update is a major one as it brings the latest Android version. Mi A3 is part of Google's Android One programme through which it offers near-stock Android experience, early Android updates and security updates.

It looks like Xiaomi is facing problems again with software updates for the Mi A3. Xiaomi had to halt the Android 10 update for Mi A3 twice as it had multiple bugs. There was also a firmware update for the Mi A3 that had disabled the second SIM card. With Android 11 also facing issues, future updates may be at risk too for the Mi A3.

Xiaomi has responded to this issue by saying - “It has come to our notice that a few users of Mi A3 are facing issues with the OTA update for Android 11. While the rollout has been stopped already at our end, our teams are working towards resolving the issue at the earliest. Customer experience is our top most priority and we regret the inconvenience caused. We will keep all our users updated on the next steps.”
