It's a good day for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro users in India as they have finally started receiving Android 11 update. Although it's not yet available to all the users in the country yet, it will definitely be reaching out to all in the next few days. This is also Redmi Note 9 Pro's first major OS update as the handset was launched with Android 10-based MIUI 11. It did get MIUI 12 in September but the Android OS stayed the same.

So, we recommend you to download and install the new OS version over Wi-Fi connectivity and enough battery. The software also pushes the firmware version to MIUI V12.0.1.0.RJWINXM. If you are an owner of the Note 9 Pro, it is possible to manually check for the update by navigating through Settings > About phone.

The changelog doesn't mention the Android 11 details coming to the smartphone. However, one can expect some basic changes such as easy handling of conversations from different messaging apps at one place, floating chat bubbles that are similar to what Facebook Messenger has on Android, easy way to control other connected smart devices and more.

Right now, the Note 9 Pro costs 13,999, 15,999 and 16,999 for the 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB models. You can get it in Aurora Blue, Champagne Gold, Glacier White and Interstellar Black colours.
