Apple iPhone 12 sets new iPhone sales records: Report

As far as the iPhone 13 is concerned, Wedbush believes that the iPhone 13 is likely to arrive in the third week of September.

Apple is set to launch its next-generation iPhone models, the iPhone 13 or the iPhone 12s, in fall this year. Ahead of the launch of the company's 2021 iPhone models, a new report has shed some light on the sales numbers of the iPhone 12 series that was launched in October last year.

Apple Insider quoting details by WedBush said that Apple has set new iPhone sales records with the iPhone 12 as the company has not had to cut any production owing to high demand.

The report says that build orders for iPhones are said to remain in the range of 56 million to 62 million units for the March quarter. "We have not seen a robust launch upward trend such as this in a number of years for Apple," analysts Daniel Ives and Strecker Backe wrote in a note. The analysts believe that the iPhone 12 will match the iPhone 6 that was launched back in 2014 as far as the overall sales figures are concerned.

Wall Street believes that Apple will sell around 220 million iPhone units in 2021. However, Wedbush believes that this number could reach 240 units or even 250 units by the end of the year.

As far as the iPhone 13 is concerned, Wedbush believes that the iPhone 13 is likely to arrive in the third week of September. However, model tweaks could push the launch to early October. The report also says that Apple is aiming for a higher build order for iPhone 13 series. The company is planning around 100 million units as against the initial prediction of around 80 million iPhone 12 units.
