Google Pixel 4a could be cheaper than Apple iPhone SE 2

A fresh rumour on the Pixel 4a reveals a cheaper price tag for the phone than what was predicted earlier.

Google's mid-range smartphone Pixel 4a is expected to launch sometime this month. The smartphone has been spotted in a series of leaks and rumours, and it continues to do so. This time it's the price of the Pixel 4a which is actually different from what has been rumoured so far.

According to 9to5Google's Stephen Hall, Pixel 4a will start at $349 instead of $399 as expected. This would make it cheaper than the starting price of its predecessor Pixel 3a. In comparison with the Apple iPhone SE 2, Pixel 4a would also cost $50 less which does make a huge difference. There's no confirmation yet but the latest rumour points at a cheaper price tag for the Pixel 4a.

The smartphone has also gone through some benchmark tests which were shared by YouTuber Julio Lesson who had previously shared the Pixel 4a's camera review. The benchmarks reveal the Pixel 4a runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset with Adreno 618 GPU. It also packs 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and runs Android 10.

Benchmark test results compiled by XDA Developers show that the Pixel 4a performs as good as the Pixel 3 XL and definitely better than the Pixel 3a XL. The smartphone performed well in areas like the CPU, memory and UX but its GPU game was weak in comparison to the Pixel 4 and Pixel 3 XL.

While we do know almost everything about the Pixel 4a it's still interesting to see what Google has to offer. Google's Pixel division also saw a major change with its camera head Marc Levoy leaving the company. Pixel phones' biggest trait has so far been its camera but with Levoy's departure that area could see some changes.
