If you are a tech enthusiast, you probably know that OLED screen on a smartphone or any device for that matter saves more battery as compared to LCD screens. That's because OLEDs can illuminate or turn off each pixel, which LCDs just can't. However, one of the Youtubers named PhoneBuff has now shown how much battery does the iPhone 12 with OLED screen saves as compared to iPhone 11's LCD screen while in Dark Mode. The video additionally compares the iPhone 12 in Light Mode.

And as it turns out, if you have the iPhone 12 in Dark Mode, it will save a lot more battery life as compared to when the same device is in Light Mode. In the video, we also see iPhone 11 with LCD screen losing while in Dark Mode, leaving iPhone 12 with almost 13% extra battery. When iPhone 12 in Light Mode drained, the one in Dark Mode was still at 9%.

It is worth mentioning that Apple iPhone 12 is said to feature less battery capacity as compared to 2019's iPhone 11. While the 11 is said to come with a 3110mAh battery, the iPhone 12 reportedly has 2815mAh battery. However, many speculate the power efficient 5nm-based A14 Bionic chipset as the main reason that stretches iPhone 12's battery more than iPhone 11's.

Interestingly, Apple's website says that both iPhone 12 and 11 have up to 17 hours of video playback time and 65 hours of audio playback. However, from the battery drain test seen above, it looks like the iPhone 12 can do much better in Dark Mode.
