iPhone 14 leaks: The rumor mills keep churning out more information about the upcoming Apple smartphone as the launch date comes nearer. And one of the areas where rumors have been focused on is the iPhone 14 display. In fact, one of the first rumors for the smartphone was around its display when we found out that the notch for the Pro models could be replaced with a dual pill and hole cutouts earlier this year. While the displays are not getting any earth-shattering innovations, there are some rumored upgrades that can change the game for Apple fans. So, read on to know everything the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro displays can offer come September. Also read: Should you wait for Apple iPhone 14 Pro or buy iPhone 13 Pro now?
iPhone 14 leaks: Display size
Comparing it to the iPhone 13, the display size might remain the same but with one striking change. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro are likely to retain 6.1-inch display size whereas the iPhone 4 Pro Max will get the larger 6.7-inch display. But the twist comes in the form of iPhone 14 Max (which is also being called the iPhone 14 Plus by some leakers). According to leaks, the iPhone 14 Max will get a 6.7-inch display bringing it on par with Apple's most expensive iPhone model.
There are changes scheduled for the appearance of the display as well. As mentioned above, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have been tipped to feature a dual pill and hole cutouts instead of a giant notch. The hole cutout will house the front camera while the pill cutout will contain the FaceID sensors. This might free up a little bit of display real-estate for users.
iPhone 14 leaks: Display refresh rate
While the iPhone 13 remained at 60Hz, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max received a variable refresh rate that could scale between 10Hz and 120Hz, adding a dynamic element to it. According to a new leak, it appears that the iPhone 14 non-pro models might get a higher refresh rate this year. For the iPhone 14 Pro models, while the higher end of the refresh rate might remain at 120Hz, the lower end can go as low as 1Hz. Not only will it add better battery performance but it can also make way for the always-on display feature, which has been rumored for a while.
