iPhone 14 Pro now certified to have the best selfie camera on any smartphone. (Amritanshu / HT Tech)

iPhone 14 Pro is now certified as the world's best selfie camera phone! DxOMark, the firm that awards scores for smartphone cameras and audio performance, has found the Apple iPhone 14 Pro to feature the best selfie camera you can get on any smartphone today. Not only that, the iPhone 14 Pro is also said to be the second best still photo camera smartphone in the market. In terms of video performance, the iPhone 14 Pro grabs the top spot as well.

The only phone that beats the iPhone 14 Pro with regards to still photography is the Honor Magic 4 Ultimate, which has a score of 147. The iPhone 14 Pro nabs a score of 146 on this table, beating the Huawei P50 Pro's 143, and the iPhone 13 Pro's score of 141. The iPhone 14 Pro's arch nemesis, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, sits in a lowly ninth position with a score of 135 for the cameras.

iPhone 14 Pro dominates DxOMark charts

While the scores are quite high for the iPhone 14 Pro, note that these scores don't matter to most of you buying these phones, considering that the real world experiences vary. While the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra sits at a lowly place, it managed to woo us better in the real world, and still continues to perform better in most scenarios than the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro.

    Not sure which
    mobile to buy?

The iPhone 14 Pro Max, which shares the same camera hardware as the iPhone 14 Pro, struggled with its selfies in our review. The camera struggles to manage the exposures and its Photonic Engine keeps brightening up the photos to a higher extent.

The iPhone 14 Pro also managed to nab a score of 142 on the DxOMark audio test. This goes on to show the great speaker quality on the iPhone 14 Pro, which is something we acknowledge in our review.

At the moment, the iPhone 14 Pro is available at a starting price of Rs. 129,900 for the base 128GB variant. The iPhone 14 Pro measures the same as the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 but with lots of changes. The phone ditches the notch in favour of the Dynamic Island to mask its front cameras and sensors, a new 4nm A16 Bionic chip, a new 48MP rear camera, and a new Always On Display feature.
