iPhone 14 Series launch today: One of the most awaited days of the year is finally here! Apple is all set for the Far Out event that is to be held today and everyone is excited and eagerly waiting for the company to launch the iPhone 14 series at the event. Apple is expected to introduce four iPhone 14 models namely iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max (Plus), iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Though nothing official has been disclosed about the iPhone 14 series, the rumours about the same have been picking up pace over the last few days.. Prior to today's Far Out event, here we reveal some of the most exciting things that are expected to happen during the Apple Far Out event today.

1. iPhone 14: Price

With the launch of the flagship on September 7, there are mixed expectations regarding the price of the iPhone 14 series. Where some analysts believe that the phone may cost more compared to iPhone 13 series on launch, some say that the price will be lower. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the upcoming series can see a hike of upto 15 percent in price. According to a report by TrendForce, a market research firm, Apple may consider launching the iPhone 14 series with a starting range of around Rs. 60,000. The price of the standard iPhone 14 may start from $749 (roughly 60,000), which is lower than what the iPhone 13 was launched at ($799). However, the report further said that Apple can launch the iPhone 14 series at lower price but later will likely increase the same. In India, you will also have to add taxes to this amount.

2. iPhone 14 Series: Display

Apple is expected to bring alway-on display with the iPhone 14 Pro models. The company is also likely to allow the Lock Screen widgets that were introduced with the iOS 16. The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to get a 6.1-inch display and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will come with the 6.7-inch display of its predecessor. According to a rumour from Ross Young, the iPhone 14 Pro could increase in size from 6.06 inches to 6.12 inches, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max from 6.68 to 6.69 inches. According to the latest rumours iPhone 14 Pro display cutouts could appear as a single long pill shape when turned on and will show camera plus microphone privacy indicators. Apple is also expected to offer a pill-shaped cutout for Face ID along with a punch hole.

3. iPhone 14 Series: Apple to drop 'Mini' from the list

According to the leaks, rumours and reports, Apple will launch four iPhone 14 models- iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max/Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max/Plus. Thus, dropping the Mini model as it was in the iPhone 13 series.

4. iPhone 14 Series: Design

Though the iPhone 14 series is expected to look similar to iPhone 13 series, there can be several changes too. According to Graphic renders on CAD from Ian Zelbo, the new iPhone 14 Pros could have a more rounded chassis with a larger camera tray. These changes will be required to facilitate the newer camera hardware on the iPhone 14 Pro models. Also, based on an investor's report from JP Morgan Chase, the iPhone 14 Pro models could get a new titanium chassis which is more scratch-resistant and it's stronger than both steel and aluminium.

5. iPhone 14 Series: Colour

According to the information provided by leaker @Jioriku on Twitter, iPhone 14 will get colour options like Green, Purple, Blue, Black, White and Red. The leaskster also informed that the Pink colour is replaced with purple. While the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max will get colour options including Green, Purple, Silver, Gold, and Graphite. Here Purple takes the place of Sierra Blue.

6. iPhone 14 Series: Cameras

iPhone 14 Pro is expected to get a trio of cameras flush on its back. iPhone 14 Pro is likely to get even a bigger raised camera array and will also be 0.2mm thicker than the iPhone 13 counterparts. The upcoming model may also get a bigger camera module in order to house a 48MP camera.

7. iPhone 14 Series: Chipset

It is expected to see the A16 Bionic chip in the iPhone 14 Pro series, with improved performance across the board according to alleged benchmarks. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said that only the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will get the A16 Bionic, claiming the iPhone 14 will stick with the A15 chip.

8. iPhone 14 Series: Battery

A tipster @VNchocoTaco has informed about the battery capacity of the iPhone 14 models. According to the leak iPhone 14 Pro is expected to get a 3200mAh battery, iPhone 14 3279mAh, iPhone 14 Pro Max 4323mAh, and iPhone 14 Max is expected to get the biggest battery of 4325mAh.

9. iPhone 14 Series: RF Chip

The iPhone 14 models are expected to house a newly sourced Snapdragon X65 modem from Qualcomm, according to a report by 91mobiles. The report further informed that Apple has also sourced new RF chips developed using its in-house technology from TSMC, moving away from Samsung, which was so far the supplier.

10. iPhone 14 Series: Satellite communication

iPhone 14 Series could receive the satellite communication feature. Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at TF International Securities shared updates of a new survey via Medium informing that Apple had completed tests for satellite communication. "iPhone 14's satellite communication mainly provides emergency texting/voice services," the report said. According to the information provided by AppleTrack earlier, this iPhone 14 service will be limited to use of text messages, while photos and voice calls will be supported later. Some rumours also suggest that Apple could introduce a batch of iPhones that do not have a physical SIM card slot and will get an e-SIM as the only model.
