As the 5G auction is approaching, Reliance Jio is rumoured to bring the Jio Phone 5G at an affordable price later this year in India. The Jio Phone Next smartphone was launched in late 2021 with 4G connectivity. The telecom company has already confirmed that the handset is in the making and we can expect it soon. However, the exact launch date is yet to be revealed. According to a report by Android Central, the telco has claimed that the handset's network will be uniquely positioned so that they can seamlessly switch to 5G when the next-gen mobile network is available. Jio Phone 5G is rumoured to be priced somewhere between Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 12,000. This seems to be the down payment, which the customer has to pay while purchasing the device. Further we can expect some bank discount, exchange value and a few offers that could make it more cheaper.

Jio Phone 5G is expected to be an entry-level smartphone with some basic features. As reported, the handset is likely to come with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel featuring HD+ (1,600 x 720 pixel) resolution and a standard refresh rate of 60Hz. Under the hood, the Jio Phone 5G will rely on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G processor paired with an Adreno 619 GPU. The phone could offer 4GB of RAM and 32GB of user-expandable storage.
On the camera front, it could pack a dual camera setup, comprising a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP macro lens, on the rear and an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calling. Furthermore, it would be powered by a large 5000mAh with up to 18W charging support through a USB Type-C port.
On the software front, the budget 5G phone may run on the same Pragati OS as Jio Phone Next.
