Nokia accidentally leaks its G50 smartphone ahead of launch

Nokia seems to be gearing up to launch its next smartphone. The Nokia G50 has appeared online ahead of launch. Moreover, the source of the leak is the company itself. The Nokia G50 seems to be a new offering in the Nokia G series that has the Nokia G10 and Nokia G20 as the existing two models. It will be available in at least two colour options. Plus, it will include a waterdrop-style notch on the front instead of a punch-hole cutout. The Nokia G50 is speculated to be the most affordable 5G smartphone from the Finnish company. It is also touted to come in two storage variants.

The Nokia Mobile Instagram account in France accidentally published and revealed details about the Nokia G50 on Sunday. The original post was pulled shortly after it was reported online, However, NokiaMob.net was able to save its screenshot and the included video teaser to give us the details. From the teaser, we can see that the Nokia G50 will be offered in Blue and Midnight Sun colour options. Moreover, the post confirms that the upcoming Nokia G-series device will offer 5G connectivity. Plus, it will have a 48MP primary camera.

We can make out from the teaser that the Nokia G50 has a design similar to the existing Nokia G10 and Nokia G20. You get a waterdrop-style display notch at the front and the rear side has a gradient finish. On the back lies a triple camera setup that includes a 48MP main sensor. The information regarding the other two shooters remains unknown. The company hasn't revealed any details regarding the device officially.

According to some previous reports, the Nokia G50 can be powered by a Qualcomm processor. If we are to guess, it could be the Snapdragon 480 SoC. The smartphone is likely to run Android 11. Further, the Nokia G50 price is said to start at GBP 207 in the UK, which translates to around ₹11,000 in India for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The phone could be made available in a third colour option, the Forest Black as well.
