Samsung Galaxy A02s inches closer to the official launch, spotted on NBTC
Samsung Galaxy A02s is said to come with a triple-rear camera setup, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, and 2GB of RAM.
Samsung is working on a new entry-level smartphone. Ahead of the official launch, an unreleased Samsung phone with model number SM-A025F/DS has bagged certification in Thailand. The certification website reveals the actual name of the phone – Galaxy A02s.
As of now, there is no word on the official launch date yet, but it seems to be close. Before the Thailand certification, Samsung Galaxy A02 has appeared on Bluetooth SIG and Geekbench websites.
It is said to come with a 5.7-inch display with HD+ resolution. The phone reportedly has three cameras 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors on the back, and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front. The Galaxy A02 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, according to reports. It is also said to come with Android 10 and 2GB of RAM.
Apart from an entry-level A-series phone, Samsung is also working on an affordable Galaxy M02. The smartphone is said to come with a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, likely to be Snapdragon 450. The chipset is coupled with 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 10.
Samsung currently offers a wide range of Galaxy A and Galaxy M phones in India. The cheapest Galaxy A phone in India is Galaxy A20s, which is available for ₹13,695. The most expensive in the series is Galaxy A80, which costs ₹41,999. In the M series, Samsung offers M01 Core for ₹4,999. The most premium model in the series is Galaxy M51, which is available for ₹24,999.
Separately, Samsung has surpassed Xiaomi to regain the top spot in the Indian smartphone market. According to the latest Counterpoint Research report, Samsung grabbed 24% market share in Q3 2020 as compared to Xiaomi's 23%. Vivo, Realme and Oppo who bagged 17%, 16% and 8% market share respectively to stay in the top five.
