Xiaomi MIUI 13 launch date revealed, may not come to some popular phones
The MIUI version might launch in China first in the second quarter of the year, which means between April-June.
While Xiaomi is still in the process of pushing its MUI 12.5 to more smartphones, it is also set to bring out the next major version - MIUI 13 to a few devices. As reported by GSMArena, the MIUI version might launch in China first in the second quarter of the year, which means between April-June. This is also the same timeline that Xiaomi has been using to introduce the new MIUI every year. This year, the firm is said to launch it on June 25.
As for the devices on which it will be coming, the report adds that Xiaomi’s MIUI 13 might not be reaching some older flagships and popular handsets. This may include the Mi 9, Mi Mix 3 and some mid-rangers like Redmi Note 8 and Redmi 8 lineup. Not a lot has been talked about the features of the MIUI 13. However, as per some rumours, there could be a new user interface with optimised animations, new themes and wallpapers. This may come in addition to some security improvements as well.
Just last month, Xiaomi started rolling out MIUI 12.5 to seven devices. The upgrade is being delivered via an over the air (OTA) update to the Mi 11 series, the Mi 10 series, the Mi 9 SE. They were some of the first devices that the company was testing the latest update for and the update is now rolling out on the stable channel. The update, however, seems limited to China.
The MIUI 12.5 update is expected to make the company’s software lighter, faster and more efficient and use less resources. It will also feature better gestures, faster response time, better animations, new Super Wallpapers, notification sounds and haptics, and privacy features. These privacy features include Clipboard protection, File storage (Isolation), Browser, and Location (Non-precise positioning).
