Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 beats the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 in an area where previous foldables have always garnered complaints – thickness. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is currently the slimmest foldable phone on sale, measuring at 5.4 mm when unfolded, and 11.2 mm when folded. That is much slimmer than the dimensions of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. That and the fact that this phone has a weight of 264 grams makes this one of the more practical foldables to buy.

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 comes in two colours – gold and black. Pricing for the Fold 2 starts at CNY 8,999 (approx. Rs. 1 lakh) for the base 12GB/256GB model, and it goes up to CNY 11,999 for the 12GB RAM and 1TB storage trim. This makes it much cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which is expected to carry a price of more than Rs. 1 lakh. The Mix Fold 2 is currently restricted to China only and Xiaomi hasn't revealed any plans to release this phone for the global markets. We did not get the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold as well.

Since the focus is on ease of use, Xiaomi has settled for a form factor that makes for an aspect ratio of 21:9 on the Cover Display. This display measures 6.5-inches and supports a refresh rate of 120Hz. This gets a Gorilla Glass Victus protection and a 20MP selfie camera sitting in the punch-hole cutout.

The Main Display measures 8-inches and features an LTPO=2 panel, meaning it has a variable refresh rate of 1Hz-120Hz. The new ECO OLED panel allows for better display transparency and lower power consumption, all while having Schott UTG Glass, support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Like most flagship phones now, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip does duty inside the Fold 2. This phone runs on MIUI Fold 13 based on Android 12. Additionally, the Xiaomi Leica branding is also back on the phone's back to adorn the triple camera system, which consists of a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 2x Zoom.

All of this is backed by a 4500 mAh battery and that has its own 67W wired charging for a quick top-up of the battery. Unlike the Samsung foldable, there's no support for wireless charging here.
