There are over 40 mobile phones on which WhatsApp will stop working. And they are across both platforms, which is Apple iOS and Android. According to The Sun, smartphones running Android 4.0.4 and older variants will stop getting WhatsApp support. When it comes to Apple, iOS 9-running iPhones will be booted out. The list of mobiles that will be hit by this virtual WhatsApp ban are:
* Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, Trend II, Trend Lite, Core, Ace 2
* LG Optimus F7, F5, L3 II Dual, F7 II, F5 II
* Sony Xperia
* Huawei Ascend Mate and Ascend D2
* Apple iPhone SE, 6S, and 6S Plus
With WhatsApp rolling out so many new features and targetting to launch many more, these older phones will become obsolete and therefore, will not be able to properly run the app. Also, WhatsApp may not be able to provide proper security or end-to-end encryption facility to these phones.
