Android may be stealing all the glory in the India market, but for Apple fanboys and girls, there really is no other option when it comes to choosing a smartphone. The latest software update, in the form of the iOS 6.1, seeks to improve on the already existing software performance and bug fixes, and is now available for installation.
Apple's marketing chief Philip Schiller says, "iOS 6 is the world's most advanced mobile operating system, and with nearly 300 million iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices on iOS 6 in just five months, it may be the most popular new version of an OS in history. iOS 6.1 brings LTE support to more markets around the world, so even more users can enjoy ultrafast Safari browsing, FaceTime video calls, iCloud services, iTunes and App Store downloads."
The update also allows access to the faster LTE networks offered in many locations around the world. Also, iTunes Match subscribers can now download individual songs from iCloud and purchase movie tickets through Fandango with Siri (US only) and have playback controls on the lock screen. If that's not all, the latest update also has minor changes in Safari and slight changes to boarding passes in Apple's Passbook software.
Vijeyta Shah, 25, a lawyer, says, "I had been waiting for quite a while for this update. Though most of the fixes aren't
yet applicable in India, the jailbreak will now soon be on its way. So it should help iPhone 5 users in the long run."
