Google I/O 2016: Everything you need to know about Android N

Even though there are 250 new tweaks to the latest flavour of the yet-to-be-named Android N, the company is introducing a few features that make it one of the most practical and exciting update in years.

Even though there are 250 new tweaks to the latest flavour of the yet-to-be-named Android N, the company is introducing a few features that make it one of the most practical and exciting update in years.The stable version will be launched later this summer, but you can sign up for the beta programme here.

1. Gaming on mobile is going to get much smoother and detailed with more accurate shadows and motion blur by native integration for Vulcan technology.

2. Revamped notifications will let you silent or reply to it without having to open the app.

3. Apps will install 75% faster and require 50% less space.

4. Android N will automatically close apps in the background if they're not used for quite some time. You also get an "all clear" button in the recent apps view.

5. You can also quickly switch to the second-most recent app by double tapping the recent button.

6. Multi-window will be activated by long tapping on recent button.

7. The OS will auto-update the system in the background and complete the installation on the next startup.

8. The annoying "Updating Apps" screen on the first boot after updating the OS has been eliminated.

9. SafetyNet will monitor apps around the world to strike down rogue apps that could cause you harm.

10. Android Wear is receiving the 2.0 update which makes smart-watches less reliant on phones with features like typing out replies to messages by drawing it on the watch's screen.
