Poco X2 India launch highlights: Price starts at 15,999, first sale on Feb 11

Poco has finally made its comeback with a new smartphone, Poco X2. This new phone is however not a successor to Poco F1. It is instead the first phone from the new Poco X series.Poco X2 comes with features like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G processor, 4,500mAh battery and dual selfie cameras. It also has a 64-megapixel Sony IMX 686 quad camera setup. The smartphone will go on sale in India on February 11 exclusively via Flipkart. Poco X2 will be available in three storage variants all of which are priced under 20,000. It also comes in three colour options of purple, red and blue. Here are the highlights from the Poco X2 India launch today.

Poco X2: Price in India

Poco X2 is priced at Rs 15,999 for the base model with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The 6GB+128GB storage will retail at 16,999 and the 8GB+256GB variant will be available at Rs 19,999. It will be available starting February 11 at 12:00 noon on Flipkart. Poco is also offering Rs 1,000 off on ICICI EMI transactions.

Poco X2: Features

Poco X2's kernel source will be available on Github starting today. It also comes with an IR blaster and P2i coating. Poco X2 will also support VoWiFi calling service out-of-the-box.

Poco X2: Design, colours

Poco X2 features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It has a Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and back. Poco X2 also comes with a speaker grille at the bottom and the 3.5mm headphone jack as well. Poco X2 comes in three colour options of ‘Atlantis Blue', ‘Matrix Purple' and ‘Phoenix Red'.

Poco X2 comes with camera features like RAW image capture and 960 fps slow motion video recording. Poco X2 also offers vlog mode with 7 different styles. For the dual selfie cameras, Poco X2 offers portrait mode.

Shortly after the Poco X2 announcement, there were several reports suggesting the phone will be a rebranded Xiaomi Redmi K30. There were leaks as well alleging that the Poco X2 is indeed the Redmi K30. Poco finally showed glimpses of the Poco X2's design which more or less confirms it is the Redmi K30. Poco becomes an independent brand

Poco was introduced in 2017 as Xiaomi's sub-brand. The company's first phone, Poco F1 turned out to be one the best mid-range performers with high-end specs but an affordable price tag. There was no news of Poco or a Poco F2 until earlier this January when it was announced as an independent brand. Poco X2 is the first phone from Poco as an independent brand.
