Samsung launches Tizen OS-based Z2 smartphone for ₹4,590
The 4G-enabled, Dual-SIM Z2 comes loaded with a 4-inch WVGA display, 1,500mAh battery, 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard memory (expandable up to 128GB) and VoLTE support.
With the aim to cater to the consumers seeking low-price smartphones, south Korean Samsung on Tuesday launched its lightweight Tizen OS-based new device Z2 in India.
The 4G-enabled, Dual-SIM Z2 comes loaded with a 4-inch WVGA display, 1,500mAh battery, 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard memory (expandable up to 128GB) and VoLTE support.
Powered by 1.5 Ghz Quad core processor, the Z2 is priced at ₹4,590 and will be available at all offline stores and online partner Paytm from August 29.
The device, available in black, gold and wine red colours, comes with a 5MP primary camera with LED flash and a VGA front shooter with beauty face and wide selfie features.
"Samsung Z2 makes 4G accessible and relevant to the unique needs of the feature phone users and the first-time smartphone buyers. It brings consumers fast and affordable mobile internet experience that will democratise 4G usage in the country," Manu Sharma, Vice President, Mobile Business, Samsung India Electronics, told reporters here.
The device has Samsung's ultra power, ultra data saving mode, S-bike mode and a new "My Money Transfer" feature for internet-free mobike banking.
Samsung has partnered with Reliance Jio to offer on-the-go services and experiences. The customers can get access to premium services like My Jio, Jio on Demand for movies and TV shows and Jio Beats for HD songs in 20 languages.
Samsung also said that it plans to make a 100 per cent connected ecosystem in the next five years in the country.
