As the trilogy of ten-year old Tolkien-based films tell us, courage and ability come in all shapes and sizes.
Nevertheless, in these first screenshots at least, it would seem that the weapon-wielding Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Gandalf are more likely to excel in combat situations, while the smaller Hobbits are better suited to the noble arts of exploration and sleeping.
Traveller's Tales is once again leading the charge for this Lego tie-in, having only just released Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes in June.
That game's appetite for comprehensible voiceover dialogue in place of audio babbling will be replicated in Lego Lord of the Rings, which is to contain soundbites from the films as well as somewhat recognizable incarnations of the cast.
