Roxxxy, world’s first sex robot, looks to revolutionise the most carnal human instinct — sex. She's complete with artificial intelligence and flesh-like synthetic skin.

If you like Porsches, she likes Porsches. If you like soccer, she likes soccer. In short, she's the perfect companion. But there's a catch - she's not human. Roxxxy, the world's first sex robot, made its debut at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas recently. Complete with artificial intelligence and flesh-like synthetic skin, "She can't vacuum, she can't cook, but she can do almost anything else, if you know what I mean," claims Douglas Hines, the president of Roxxxy manufacturer TrueCompanion, talking to AFP. The 'robotic girlfriend', priced from $US7,000 to $US9,000, depending on features, is available in Europe and the US and will eventually be available globally, according to Hines.

For the Capital's reclusive, the news is welcome. Prateek Sharma, a 23-year-old engineering student calls it "the most genius idea till date". "Sex without the hang-ups of a relationship - why didn't anyone think of this earlier?" he asks. Angad Kumar, a 24-year-old call centre employee says, "Guess I can finally get some action. I'd love to buy one of these things, but I'll have to figure out a way of hiding it from my parents first."

The makers of Roxxxy also plan to come out with a male sex robot - Rocky - in the future. This concept, however, may not have as many takers in the Capital. "It's sick. I can never imagine getting intimate with a machine!" says Priya Sharma, 22, a content writer. "Delhiites get squeamish at the mention of sex toys. A sex robot may be too hard to digest," says Rita Khanna, a designing student.
