Telangana government's Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration (CDMA) on Thursday launched a dedicated WhatsApp channel to boost property tax collection in the state.

This service will be free-to-use and it will provide up-to-date information about tax dues to the users. It will not only simplify the process of tax collection but will also boost the process in the state.

CDMA says that the newly launched channel is called ‘CDMA, Telangana Property Tax Module' and it is an automated chatbot service that will allow citizens to substitute visits to the Municipal office with WhatsApp chats, which in turn would enable contactless transactions during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Using this service is easy. All users need to do is send a ‘Hi' to CDMA on Telangana's official WhatsApp account. The WhatsApp number for this service is +91 90002 53342. Once they send this message, they can easily access property tax collection related services, which includes paying their taxes via a debit card, credit card or internet banking among other things.

CDMA says that the chatbot is currently available in English and Telugu and that it is working to add Urdu as an additional language soon.
