Texting takes a sexy turn
Sexting is the new mobile fad that’s keeping Delhi’s youngsters busy.
Your ever-connected friends constantly tapping at their mobile keypads may now be sharing sexually explicit pictures, videos and text on their cellphones.
Sexting, as it is termed is what is keeping 20 per cent of youngsters between 13-19 years busy, and if you the raise the age to 24, then a quarter of that young population is engaged in it, reveals a survey by Associated Press and MTV. Several Delhi youngsters HT City spoke to, confirmed the trend. "I share such pictures with my boyfriend. I don't find anything wrong with it," said DU student Priyanka Dixit.
"I have pictures of semi nude girls on my cellphone and I forward those to my friends," said Nitin Baghel of Hindu College. But sexting isn't as harmless as it sounds. "My ex had some explicit pictures of mine. After our break up, he forwarded it to his friends," says Shilpa Kumar, a management trainee.
Often such content is also shared on the Internet, which is a concern for authorities.
