Not just Apple Music, your HomePod can now play music from Gaana, JioSaavn

The Apple HomePods can now do more. While you can still use the HomePod to AirPlay content from your smartphone, Apple Music and Apple Podcasts are not the only content streaming services you can take advantage of by asking Siri to pull up what you want to listen to. Apple has added support of popular music services Gaana and JioSaavan on the HomePod now and starting today, you can just ask Siri to play you music from these apps.

So far, to listen to music on the HomePod, you were stuck with Apple Music only, if you wanted Siri to do all the work that is. Of course, there was always AirPlay support that allowed you to stream music and content from pretty much any other source onto the HomePod. Now, with this new upgrade, users on iOS 14.1 and later can stream content from Gaana and JioSavaan on the HomePod mini. And you can also ask Siri to help out here.

How to add Gaana, JioSaavan to the HomePod mini

- Go to the app settings.

- Tap on option to “Connect with HomePod”.

- Now, you just need to follow the onscreen instructions to set streaming on the device.
