Twitter Fleets: How to create a post on Android, iOS

Twitter just unveiled its ‘Fleets’ feature in India as a part of a test and you might see it appearing on top like Instagram’s Stories. While one can call this as Twitter’s answer to Facebook and Instagram features, it actually has its own set of pros and cons. We will be talking about that as well but right now we will tell you how to go about it and post your first fleeting thought on the microblogging website. Of course, this is only possible when you start seeing this feature in your Android and iOS app versions.

Here’s what you need to do:

-In the Twitter app’s main newsfeed, tap on your profile image showing in the circle with a + sign.

-Type your thoughts in the box or add an image or a GIF from the given options. Posting links along with text and hashtags are also possible.

-Once done, you can tap on the ‘Fleet’ button on the bottom corner to post it.

-You can make a thread out of it as well performing the same method again.

And that’s it, that’s how easy it is to create a Fleet post. However, since it is in the testing phase, it lacks some of the features you find on Instagram Stories or Facebook Stories. Also, it won’t be visible to those browsing Twitter via desktop.

Twitter Fleets are posts that disappear after 24 hours. Twitter hasn’t officially launched Fleets yet and it is so far available for testing only in Italy, Brazil and now India.Twitter Fleets cannot be liked, retweeted or replied to. Users can still see who viewed their Fleets underneath their post.
