Galaxy Tab A7 is Samsung’s most recent offering in the budget Android tablet segment. It comes in Wi-Fi and LTE variants, and at a starting price of ₹17,999.

Samsung highlights the slim design of the Galaxy Tab A7 which is the case for this tablet. The Galaxy Tab A7 is also as slim as the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. But with a metal body the tablet is slightly on the heavier side. It also has thick bezels covering all sides of the display. If you’re switching from an all-screen device, the bezels might be off putting. The display is a 10.4-inch screen LCD screen with 2000 x 1200 pixels resolution. The brightness is adequate and the colours are quite warm. It’s good enough for when you’re browsing the web, watching videos or playing games too.

The highlight of this tablet is its speakers. It has four speakers with two on each side. The speakers are crazy loud, and that makes the tablet great for entertainment. The tablet is equipped with Dolby Atmos so you get that stereo sound experience.

The Galaxy Tab A7 packs only 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. You can expand it up to 1TB via a microSD card. The low RAM capacity is quite telling when it comes to gaming especially for games like Genshin Impact and Asphalt 9. Even with the lowest graphics setting there are a lot of frame drops, and the experience isn’t good at all. The overall experience of navigating on the tablet is slightly slow too with a slight lag in opening apps. The tablet is still decent for regular tasks like browsing through sites, using social media apps, and streaming content.

The tablet will last you long though, thanks to its 7,040mAh battery. On regular usage, the Galaxy Tab A7 should run for around 10 hours or even more. Heavy usage would bring the battery life down to around eight hours.

The Galaxy Tab A7 has a 5-megapixel front camera which is meant only for video calling as Samsung also advertised. The 8-megapixel rear camera does a poor job in delivering photos even in well-lit conditions. What’s more? You get a 3.5mm headphone jack on the Galaxy Tab A7, and facial recognition as well.

Verdict

The Galaxy Tab A7 is great for entertainment, and for regular usage. If you’re someone who wants a budget tablet for studying, or a bigger screen experience for regular tasks, then you can consider it.
