Apple iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro may miss out on 120z refresh rate screens

If you have been hoping that Apple might finally bring 120Hz refresh rate display in its iPhone 12 models this year, you might be disappointed. Tipster Jon Prosser says that he is pretty sure Apple iPhone 12 and 12 Pro won’t feature a 120Hz display. In a tweet he added that this tech didn’t make it to the mass production of new iPhone, which started earlier this week. “120hz (codename: d6x) didn't make mass production. *now* you can give up,” tweeted Prosser. 

Although this might not seem like a big news, featuring 120Hz on a Retina display may have become one of the highlights of the iPhone 12 models. Recently, it was rumoured that iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will come with this tech. But it looks like Apple is not yet satisfied with the performance. So, this means that we might see this coming to iPhones by next year. Who knows?

This comes days after DSCC’s Ross Young claimed that 120Hz won’t make the cut for iPhone 12 models as the firm was not able to get enough stock of driver ICs to make the tech a reality.

Meanwhile, there are rumours that although Apple could announce all four rumoured iPhone 12 models on the same day, only two of them will be coming out before, while the other two will be hitting the markets later. A report from Digitimes states that out of the four iPhones, two 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models could come early while the smaller 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max may arrive later. 

A similar report has previously come from Bloomberg as well. However, it has been mentioned that the 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 might come before the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro models.
