Apple iPhone 12 series to enter mass production in July

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 series smartphones have been a subject of numerous reports in the past couple of months. From design to expected specifications, reports have already given us a fair idea of what we should expect from Apple’s premium budget smartphones. Now, a new report shares details about the phone’s production details.

According to a report by Digitimes (via GSM Arena), the iPhone maker will complete the second phase of Engineering Validation and Testing (EVT) of the iPhone 12 by the end of June. The company will begin the production of series 12 iPhones in July.

That said, it remains unclear if the Cupertino, California-based tech giant will launch all four models together in fall. This is because Apple, according to reports by several analysts, is making some changes into the antenna design of its higher iPhone 12 models with mmWave 5G. A report by MacRumours says that the iPhone maker is designing its own antenna-in-package (AiP) module for mmWave iPhones, which could lead to productional delays and even a staggered rollout. Apple is yet to comment on the matter.

Coming to the specifications, the iPhone 12 will come with a 5.4-inch OLED display by BOE. It will sport the company’s A14 chipset along with 4GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage space and a dual-rear camera setup. The iPhone 12 Max, on the other hand, will come with a 6.1-inch OLED display by BOE. It will also sport the company’s A14 chipset along with 4GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage space and a dual-rear camera setup.

The iPhone 12 Pro will come with a 6.1-inch OLED display by Samsung. It will sport the company’s A14 chipset along with 6GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage space and a triple-rear camera setup LiDAR sensor. The top variant in the iPhone 12 series will come with a 6.7-inch OLED display by Samsung. It will also sport the company’s A14 chipset along with 6GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage space and a triple-rear camera setup LiDAR sensor. All the four variants are expected to come with 5G connectivity.
