Apple iPhone 13 mockup shows a smaller notch design

This year’s Apple iPhone is still months away from being official. While some have been terming it as the iPhone 13 series, some call it the iPhone 12s. Whatever might be the name, we surely have some idea on what to expect, courtesy analysts and tipsters. But in case you want to get a clearer idea on the upcoming iPhone 13 models, a leaked mockup might help. A new 3D printed mockup of the device has been obtained by Macotakara, showing how Apple has rearranged the components inside the notch and how it might be smaller than before.

It has been mentioned that the notch has shrunk by 0.3 inches in width but it does make it a bit taller. The mockup does look similar to the front glass panels that were leaked recently. As per some rumours, the speakers were moved up into the display bezel and that’s exactly what we are seeing in the mockup.

In case you aren’t aware, these mockups are based on the measurement specs given by Apple to its Asian component supply chain. But these shouldn’t be taken as the final design as they can slightly change by the time they reach your hands.

For now, a lot has been rumoured about the new iPhones. The latest one talks about Apple A15 Bionic processor, which will go into mass production in May this year. Also rumoured is a bigger battery capacity than last time and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate display. In addition to this, the upcoming iPhone model is also expected to come with Direct time-of-flight (ToF) technology that will replace the existing Face ID components. This in turn will help in reducing the space required for the notch.
