Asus ROG Phone 3 key specs revealed: SD 865, 16GB RAM, and more

Asus is set to launch a new gaming phone under its ROG series. Dubbed as ROG Phone 3, the smartphone has made multiple appearances on the web ahead. Now, a leakster on Weibo has revealed the important specifications of the phone.

According to the leakster, Asus ROG Phone 3 will house a 6.59-inch full HD+ display. The display is likely to support 120Hz refresh rate or 144Hz. The phone is said to come with three rear cameras including a 64-megapixel primary sensor.

As expected, Asus ROG Phone 3 will run on Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 865 processor with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB built-in storage. If true, Asus ROG Phone 3 will be one of the very few phones to come with 16GB of RAM. Samsung earlier this year launched Galaxy S20 Ultra with 16GB of RAM.

Apart from Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon processor, Asus ROG Phone 3 is expected to come with a 6,000mAh battery. This will be coupled with 30W fast charger. According to the leakster, the phone will be relatively thick at 9.85mm and may weigh around 240 grams.

The upcoming ROG Phone 3 appears to be a big upgrade in terms of specifications. The latest leak, however, doesn’t reveal the gaming-centric features and optimisations the phone has.

In comparison, ROG Phone 2 had high-end specifications for 2019. The phone featured a 6.59-inch touchscreen display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon upgraded 855 plus processor. It has 8GB of RAM. The phone also comes with a 6.59-inch 120Hz display. Other features include triple rear cameras and a 6,000mAh battery.
